"A Pure Joy ..."
Donal grew up in provincial Ireland of the seventies. He writes about the
people and places he knows and loves. He writes about issues, which are
colloquial and yet universal. He writes about ordinary everyday life in an
extraordinarily simple way. Is it any wonder that the great Christy Moore
described his debut album as "A Pure Joy".
Donal has toured the
folk clubs of Ireland, Scotland and England and is currently planning some exciting trips further afield. He has combined his concert
appearances with live radio appearances on RTE’s John Creedon Show and also
BBC’s John Bennett Show as well as numerous local radio appearances.
It has been said of Donal’s live performances that the “audience feel that
they have made a new friend having heard him perform” (Black Nun Folk Club,
Ballycastle, Co. Antrim).
